• 5th Annual Females on Fire at Jax Fish House

  Come out and support local female chefs at the 5th Annual “Females on Fire” dinner and auction hosted by Chef Sheila Lucero of Denver’s Jax Fish House. She will be joined by eight other Boulder/Denver chefs.

• Twisted Pine to host food and beer event

  Twisted Pine Brewing Company is opening up its doors to cooks in Boulder, asking them to create memorable dishes incorporating Twisted Pine Beer as an ingredient. The event will be Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 6 – 9 p.m. and will feature 20 unique beer dishes, a contest judged by three local famed chefs and of course, plenty of delicious handcrafted beer.

• Mountain Sun Ales debut new winter beers

  Mountain and Southern Sun Pub & Breweries in Boulder, and Vine Street Pub in Denver are rolling out the red carpet for several new beers this winter.

• Another local business closes doors

  One of Boulder’s oldest coffee shops, Sidney’s Café, is closing on New Year’s Eve, continuing a trend of restaurants and other businesses in downtown Boulder shutting their doors.

• Burnt Toast is toast, replaced by Cafe Aion

  The Hill restaurant Burnt Toast, located at 1235 Pennsylvania Ave., closed its doors on Dec. 24 and is expected to reopen as Café Aion in early March.

• Local restaurants ring in the New Year with feasts

  The Big Red F Restaurants, as well as Arugula Bar e Ristorante, will ring in the New Year with a variety of New Year’s Eve specials at Centro, Jax, Lola, West End Tavern, Zolo and Happy Noodle House.
