Buy local … beers
What better way to support the local economy than by patronizing your local brewery. Check out these upcoming brewery events.
Avery Brewing Co. will host Black Tot Day on Friday, Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. to celebrate the release of Black Tot, a barrel-aged imperial oatmeal stout. Black Tot was aged Gosling’s Old Rum Barrels and has flavors of dark malt, sweet rum, espresso, brown sugar molasses and vanilla.
“Initial sips are bold and intense, but new flavors burst and slide into the milieu as the beer warms, drawing you deeper into the stormy heart of this most dark and tumultuous brew. Black Tot demands to be poured into your favorite glass to be pondered and appreciated,” according to Avery.
After the release, Black Tot will be available in 12-oz. single bottles in select markets across the country. Limited availability. Visit www.averybrewing.com for more information.
Wynkoop Brewing Co. will host the Parade of Darks, a “microfest,” on Jan. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. Wynkoop
