Colorado Ski Tunes
We spoke with Brad Wolfe, owner of Boulder-based Organo-Lawn, this morning for an upcoming story about his winter project: Colorado Ski Tunes.
Pretty neat stuff here. The premise of the company is that they’ll pick up and then deliver your skis for tuning, with a turnaround time of two-three days. The story will appear in Boulder Weekly’s upcoming “Buy Local” edition.
The Boulderganic hook? The company has a driven commitment to green business. Their delivery trucks are fueled with B100 clean burning biodiesel, the shop and office is powered 90 percent by self-generated solar power and 10 percent wind power — and the service techs even wear 100 percent organic cotton shirts.
The company is also working on a recycled wax program. Wolfe estimated that currently about 50 percent of the wax used during a given tuning is wasted; that’s something he’d like to remedy.
