Boulder-based Eco-Products expands leadership team

New vice president of marketing and chief financial officer strengthen brand focus and financial leadership

BOULDER, Colo. (July 7, 2010) – Eco-Products, the nation’s leading brand of food service ware made from renewable resources and recycled content, recently announced two new key additions to its team, Andy Burgess, vice president of marketing, and Ian Jacobson, chief financial officer. With over 32 years of combined experience, Jacobson and Burgess offer expertise in the development and management of rapidly expanding companies. Eco-Products will be recognized on the Inc. 500 list again this year and was recently awarded the Mercury 100 accolade for its exponential growth over the past three years.

“Andy and Ian will fill essential positions on our expanding leadership team,” said Bob King, CEO of Eco-Products. “With Andy’s experience in product-driven companies and Ian’s knowledge of financial structures, Eco-Products continues to position itself for success in the rapidly growing yet highly competitive market for green foodservice products.”

Burgess last served as senior vice president of product, sales and marketing at GoLite, a Boulder-based athletic gear company. At GoLite, Burgess helped re-launch the brand and its high-performance products while integrating corporate social responsibility initiatives with an environmental focus.  As a result the materials used to make their products were transformed from conventional to more than 60 percent environmentally preferred, including high percentage recycled, renewable and/ or organic materials,  without sacrificing performance.  Additionally, Burgess led the creation of the GoLite Index£, the first index combining fair labor practices and environmental impact measured at the product level.

Jacobson has thirteenyears of experience in the finance sector, ranging from investment banking to direct private equity investment. Most recently, he served as vice president at Winona Capital Management LLC, a private equity firm providing growth equity to consumer focused companies in the lower middle market.  While at Winona, Jacobson was responsible for the firm’s origination activities in the green category and served as a board member for American Education Group and Dragon Alliance. Prior to working with WCM, Jacobson held positions at Laird Norton Company LLC and Windswept Capital LLC.
