Restore St. Vrain Greenway, win prizes
Boulder-area volunteers are needed to help reclaim a former gravel mine and restore its natural beauty as a habitat for native species, from willows and cottonwoods to prairie dogs and bald eagles. Volunteers will help plant trees, shrubs and other plants. The event takes place on Saturday, May 14, along the St. Vrain Greenway in Longmont, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The St. Vrain Greenway restoration project is led by the Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WLRV), a Boulder-based non-profit protecting and restoring the area’s mountains, prairies, streams and ‘urbanitats.’
This special event is sponsored by Tom’s of Maine’s Simply White “Bring Back the Natural Beauty” campaign, which is also helping to make Sheryl Crow’s “100 Miles from Memphis Tour” more green. All volunteers will be entered for a chance at two tickets to see Sheryl Crow live at the Boulder Theater, Sunday, May 15 and take part in a meet ‘n’ greet with the singer.
